As a child growing up in the Ozarks and living in Bolivar under the local airport traffic pattern, I would always stop playing and look up at the overflying airplanes and say “I’m going to do that someday”. I began flying after a chance meeting with a well seasoned former WWII Captain of the well known Mighty 8th AAF. He was my mentor and a seed was planted at the age of 16. On to college at CMSU Warrensburg, I earned a degree in Aviation Technology and a lot of flight hours and aircraft ratings. Flew contract for the Missouri Department of Conservation as aerial fire patrol & detection over 15 counties of roughest terrain of the Ozark Mountains. I joined up with Mark Burgess in 1995 as a Flight Instructor and crew on charter aircraft. From there I went to Ozarks Coca~Cola as Chief Pilot. I moved on to a large aircraft fractional Provider for 17 years. I rejoined Burgess Aircraft in the fall of 2017 and I am glad to have landed at Oz Air/Burgess Aircraft Management.
I enjoy tying dry flies, building bamboo fly rods, and fishing quiet streams. I have two energetic kids, Malorie and Ryan that take me on adventure after adventure.
